Role of event organizer/ follow up after event

New learning:

The role of an event organizer is to follow up after the event and to evaluate the success of the event.

Follow up after event:
- vacating the event and leaving clean and tidy
- return or secure borrowed equipment
-  Reconciliations of budget
'Thank you' - formal letters of gratitude

Personal reaction:

Feel like the follow up is much more work than people think therefore it needs to be thorough

New Learning 

I learnt that there are a range of Legal Requirements such as:
contacts and Agreements
health and safety legislation under consumer and protection Act 1987
consumer protection

Also there is responsibility  for Health and safety
An example for when this went wrong was at an LG events and 20 people were hurt due to a stunt going wrong.

Personal Reaction

I felt like i had an insight to what can go wrong at an event and how every factor can contribute to something at an event.

Action to be Taken

Learn more about how things can go wrong and how to overcome them

TYPE OF LEARNING:

SUMMERY OF WHAT WAS DONE:

We learnt about the role of the event organiser.
and in small groups talked about what we would need to do if we were running a music festival.

NEW LEARNING:

About the legal side of events and what event managers have to acknowledge.

Cleaning up process after an event e.g music festivals

PERSONAL REFLECTION:

Feel like I have been given an insight to all the factors that need to be accounted for, for after an event.

ACTION TO BE TAKEN:

Remember the information I have learnt from this session to include in future events.

I felt this was good because it made me think of the direction of what I wanted to go in on this course and what I want to achieve at the end new skills etc.

Summery of what was done:  

Firstly our class got associated with the fire drill of our block- The Victoria House then we learnt about Caz and about different events there are such as:
Boardmasters
Lockdown
Weddings

and we also learnt about the criteria of the course.

Personal Reaction:

Because we had to learn facts about the people in our class I felt more comfortable speaking with them.

Reaction to be taken:

From this lesson I feel like I need to reflect on what I want out of the course and what I want to learn for events such as the marketing side.
